2014 13th Age Game: Varna is the most famed gladiator in all of Emerisia.

2012 4th Ed D&D Game Bio: A gladiator from Emerisia, Varna, his brother, and several others were hired away by the Cambion to serve as bodyguards and warriors. Varna fought the party in the Whispering Cairn alongside his brother, Anrav, and their kank herd. Anrav was killed, and Varna pushed into a pit 50 feet deep. The fall broke his spine, and the party allowed him to live, healing his wounds. They hope to collect him on their way out of the dungeon.
